The NAHEMI National Student Film Awards is the annual celebration of the very best student filmmaking across the UK and Ireland.

We invite submission of Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate final film projects from our member institutions. Each NAHEMI member institution may submit a total of 20 minutes worth of films for consideration, with a maximum of three films per submitting institution.

The NAHEMI jury selects craft awards for Cinematography, Sound, Editing, Creativity, Animation, Performance, Story, and Production Design, as well awards for Best Overall Student Film, Best Undergraduate Student Film, Best Postgraduate Student film.

Winning films form the NAHEMI Selected Programme which is toured at various festivals throughout the year. In 2026 we will be taking our Selected Programme to London Short Film Festival and Encounters amongst others.
