Eat Our Shorts 2025

NAHEMI Eat Our Shorts 2025 is here!

Eat Our Shorts is NAHEMI’s annual festival, a unique collection of student films that celebrates emerging talent and reflects the types of films being produced in UK film Schools and Universities today. It brings together students, staff from Higher Education and members of the industry to showcase some of the best films produced in 24-25.

There will be three screenings in which members of the audience can vote for best films, plus an overall winner voted for by a panel of film experts, plus the opportunity to hear from the filmmakers in a live Q & A as they collect their awards.

Animation, non-fiction, experimental, and drama genres are all welcome. Members should submit a single film of no longer than 12 minutes, or a selection of films totalling no more than 12 minutes in running time, including credits, (a longer film of more than 12 minutes can be submitted but included at the discretion of the festival organisers, in place of a shorter film or programme of films – see website for details). Films must be selected by the tutors in our member institutions and can be submitted to FilmFreeway by a tutor or a student. An email must be sent to chair@nahemi.org listing the films chosen by the tutor representing their institution for inclusion in the programme.

An up-to-date subscription to NAHEMI is required to submit films to Eat our Shorts.

The Eat Our Shorts screening is a free event, and will take place at BFI Southbank Cinema, London, NFT2, on December 5th. Details will be announced nearer the time. We are looking forward to seeing the films for 2025!!

You will find all the necessary details on how to submit your films here until. You can submit until November 7th:
